A very simple recipe for a quick and filling breakfast.
4oz natural/live yoghurt
fruit/nuts/sauces to taste
Place the oats and yoghurt in a bowl and mix until all they are thoroughly combined. If using frozen fruits, place these on top and then cover the bowl and place in the fridge overnight. The longer you leave your bircher to soak (especially if using home-made yoghurt which is slightly more liquid than shop bought yoghurt) the thicker and creamier it will be.
In the morning, take out your bircher and add any fresh fruits, nuts and/or condiments to taste. My ‘basic’ is a generous spoonful of chocolate hazelnut spread although adding a few fresh strawberries to that mix is delicious!
